The Warriors Might Lose AFCON Qualifiers Points – Report

The Warriors might just lose the points they had earned in an AFCON qualifiers match against Zambia after it emerged that FIFA gave their opponents Zambia a 10-day ultimatum to either resolve their issues after one of the Football Association of Zambia non-executive council members took the association to court or face an international competitions ban, Daily News reports.

According to the publication:

Fifa are threatening the sanction on the Football Association of Zambia (Faz) after a non-councillor Damiano Mutale filed an injunction halting provincial elections after questioning the process’ legality that had been completed in six out of the 10 provinces and would have culminated in the Faz presidential elections on March 30.

If FAZ doesn’t resolve the issue on time, if they are sanctioned by FIFA, Zimbabwe might also lose the points that made the Warriors second to Algeria in Group H, making it ahead of Botswana and Zambia and remain will be left with one point for drawing with Botswana.
