Jonathan Moyo Claims Mnangagwa Wants Him Dead

Exiled former cabinet minister Jonathan Moyo has accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government of plotting his assassination saying he has evidence to prove it.

Moyo has been living in Kenya since the 2017 military coup that toppled the late Robert Mugabe and Zimbabwe recently asked the Kenyan government to extradite him.

Harare authorities said Moyo is a fugitive from justice and he should return home to face charges of fraud involving Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF) resources when he was Higher Education minister.

Moyo said the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) was working in cahoots with Military Intelligence Department (MID) to seize his car in Harare on Thursday. He said:

I am where I am, in terms of international law following a premeditated military attack on my home and family whose aim was to kill me, on November 15, 2017.

The evidence of that military attack is in the public record.

The only person who does not know about it is Mnangagwa’s henchman, prosecutor general [Kumbirai] Hodzi.

His extradition quest, which will be vigorously dealt with in terms of international law, is a desperate last-ditch effort to do what the army failed to do against me on November 15, 2017.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe government spokesperson Ndabaningi Mangwana said President Emmerson Mnangagwa had no intentions to kill Moyo.

Mangwana said it was, in fact, the G40 which tried to assassinate Mnangagwa when he was Vice President and as President in Bulawayo.
