A commuter omnibus operating in violation of lockdown regulations was involved in an accident on Sunday resulting in the death of four people.
The Harare-bound kombi collided with a lorry near Waddilove Mission School in Marondera. Thirteen people were injured, with six of them reported to be in a critical condition.
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi told ZBC News that the deceased were taken to Marondera Provincial Hospital mortuary, while the injured were being treated at the same health centre.
Asst Comm Nyathi urged transport operators to comply with COVID-19 lockdown regulations as the kombi was not contracted to the Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO).
