Safaris and National Parks To Re-Open For Locals Only
The tourism sector particularly Safaris and National Parks are set to open their doors to locals-only after 3 months of redundancy due to COVID-19 lockdown, ZBC News report, This was revealed in a post-cabinet briefing when the minister of Information Monica Mutsvangwa said:
In the tourism and hospitality sector, requests for variations of operating conditions in respect of restaurant operators, and to reopen safari operators for local hunting only and national parks were granted.
Restaurants are however open and serving customers on a takeaway basis only. Other businesses in the tourism industry that do not offer hunting remain closed according to the statement as it specifies that those re-opening are doing so for the purpose of hunting only.
