'VP Chiwenga Won A Huge Victory For African Fathers'

A local organisation championing the rights of fathers, the Fathers’ Rights Movement Zimbabwe (FRMZ) has congratulated Vice President Constantino Chiwenga for winning a court case against his estranged wife Mary Chiwenga over the custody over their three minor children.

FRMZ thanked the Supreme Court for ruling in Chiwenga’s favour saying the judgement proves that fathers have rights, and their rights are important and should never be overlooked.

The pressure group argued that for a long time, child custody matters have often come out in favour of mothers and in some circumstances for material gain. FRMZ said in a statement:

The judgment proves that fathers have rights, and their rights are important and should never be overlooked.

We thank Dr Chiwenga for being a present father, fighting for custody over his children.

Thank you Dr Chiwenga for leading the fight and winning a major victory for Fathers across Africa.

The three Supreme Court judges panel led by Elizabeth Gwaunza overturned an order granted earlier by the High Court in favour of Marry.

Chiwenga and Marry were married under an unregistered customary law marriage and have three children the eldest aged 9, 8, and 6 years respectively.
