I've Tried In Vain To Meet Zimbabwe's Rulers - Hosiah Chipanga

Mutare-based sungura musician Hosiah Chipanga claims that he has been frustrated in his attempts to meet the former President Robert Mugabe and his successor Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Chipanga says he wanted to meet the country’s leaders to have brief them on how to put Zimbabwe on the path to economic prosperity.

The controversial singer-cum-cleric believes that Zimbabwe’s crises could have been avoided had the country’s leaders followed God’s route of governance. Said Chipanga:

Since independence to this day, I have tried all avenues to meet the former president and the current one just to brief and show them the direct road to Canaan.

My heart bleeds to see the current situation we are in as a country today.

The situation should have been avoided by just adhering to the Creator’s wishes and following his route of governance.

Chipanga implored those close to the President to desist from blocking those who intend to approach him and proffer solutions to the country’s problems.

Chipanga has recorded over 25 albums but some of his songs viewed to be critical of the country’s rulers have been denied airplay.

He, however, won the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) 2004 best sungura artist.
