Chitungwiza Municipality has warned home seekers against buying residential land from land barons who are reportedly targeting to parcel out land in St Mary’s adjacent to St. Mary’s Police Station and in Manyame Park.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, Chitungwiza acting Town Clerk Tonderai Kasu said those who buy stands outside council’s purview do so at their own risk. The notice read:
It has come to the attention of the Municipality that there are some land barons that are targeting and selling open spaces in St Mary’s adjacent to St. Mary’s Police Station and in Manyame Park.
Home seekers are, therefore, advised to be wary of losing their hard-earned cash to these land barons that are illegally selling land that does not belong to them.
At no time has Council sanctioned the sale of the aforementioned land in both St Mary’s and in Manyame Park.
For the record, anyone seeking a residential or commercial stand in Chitungwiza is advised that Council is the only authority with respect to disposing of such land.
Anything done outside the Municipality’s purview is illegal, and those engaging in such illegal activities do so at their own peril.
But where is our Nyatsime stands? Are we going to wait forever? Land barons are more active than you because they provide. It seems you just wait to blame them. Wake up Chitungwiza. Our children also have families now under thesame roof muimba yasekuru and you just watch and blame land barons who will never be arrested. Oh come on guys.
It seems the law was deactivated. And secondly all the councils in our country wait for things to be worse then they try to tackled them, hence, they alert the international comunity.
