Zimbabwe's Coronavirus Cases Increase By 13 To 525

Zimbabwe’s COVID-19 cases have increased by 13 to 525. Ten of the new cases are returnees from South Africa.

In its daily update on 23 June 2020, the Ministry of Health and Child Care also revealed that 65 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered while 6 have passed away. The update reads in part:

Thirteen (13) cases tested positive for COVID-19 today. These include returnees from South Africa (10) and 3 local cases and are isolated.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the source of infection for the three (3) local cases.

Today 57 RDT screening tests and 378 PCR diagnostic tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 63 782 (36 183 RDT and 27 599 POR).

To date the total number of confirmed cases is 525; recovered 64, active cases 455 and 6 deaths, since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020.
