Lets Use Our Own Currency & Shun Currencies From Other Countries- Judith Ncube To Nleya Mourners

While addressing mourners at Stanley Nleya’s funeral service at White City Stadium yesterday, Bulawayo Minister for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Judith Ncube urged mourners to use their own currency, The ZWL Dollar and shun other currencies from other countries.

Ncube’s sentiments came amid reports that some businesses are refusing to accept the local currency which has continued to deteriorate in value on a daily basis. Ncube said:

We must encourage the use of our own currency. I heard that there are some people who are promoting and accepting the currency of other countries and shunning our own currency which is very bad. No one can fix our country besides us.

Our National Hero lying here fought his fight and you must not reverse what the freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for as that would be very unfortunate

The Bond has continued to depreciate in value despite the government issuing a cocktail of control measures to try and slow the fast passed deterioration.

  1. The minister should not romanticise economics. We know that the elite encourage ordinary people to use the bond while they lead lavish lifestyles using forex.

  2. The old goat should recall that it is such mentality as hers that brought our beautiful Zimbabwe’s economy to its knees – indigenisation turned Zimbabwe into a basket case and we can’t go that lane again.
She should realise that economics is a science and will not bend to political whims

  3. The old goat obviously does not know that economics is a science and will not bend to political whims.

It is such mentality as hers that brought Zimbabwe to its knees; she must leave economics to economists
