Mushowani Stars, Trojan Mine Join Forces

Mushowani Stars have merged with Trojan Stars to mount a strong challenge in the ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League this 2020 season.

Mukanyairi were related from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League in 2019 at a time they were on the brink of collapse due to the financial cost of playing in the top flight.

Former club owner, Lovemore Nyakasoka, decided to step aside from the club saying he had realised his dream of taking it into the Premiership.

Nyakasoka, however, left the franchise in the hands of his relatives and children.

Team manager Takunda Mutandiri confirmed the development and said they were ready for the 2020 season. He said:

The team will be in partnership with Trojan Mine and we hope to assemble a very competitive side that will compete for honours once again.

The partnership has seen us registering two stadiums, for the forthcoming season, which are Trojan and Chaminuka in Madziva.

The merging of the two clubs has set the stage for a potentially explosive Mashonaland Central derby against the ambitious club, Simba Bhora, of Shamva, who are also in the same league.

Simba Bhora are owned by businessman, Simba “Buju” Ndoro and have already been involved in an ambitious project to renovate Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva.
