MDC-T Is Dead. No Doubt Tsvangirai Endorsed Chamisa's MDC Alliance - Davis Laque

1] The chancers who now make up the new-old MDC-T keep exposing themselves. The MDC-T is dead. It survived thus far because it hovered around its Leader, DrMRT [Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai]. In equal measure, the ALLIANCE will remain as such because it hovers around its Leader Chamisa. This is politics.

2] This is an uncomfortable truth. When you say it, you’re accused of promoting personality politics. But this is Africa and these are our political dynamics. Political parties are only as popular as their Leaders, especially the inaugural ones. They usually die with them.

3] When the media was calling Chamisa, “Tsvangirai’s blue-eyed boy”..little did they know they were settling his succession. Those who followed DrMRT began embracing Chamisa as his heir apparent. The ALLIANCE meetings and campaigns solidified this with NC [Nelson Chamisa] sticking to MT Morgan Tsvangirai] like glue.

4] Even after removing Mugabe, ED has continued to attach himself to RG’s political legacy. He even went all over Africa promising to take care of RG. He promised the same for his family, after his death. We saw the same antics in Humanikwa. Chamisa himself still praises MRT.

5] In fact, the epitome of this madness is seen by how the new old MDC-T labels their party. They call it “MDC yaVaTsvangirai”. Their MDC has no character nor identity outside DrMT. They themselves have no individual political identities outside the “MDC yaVaTsvangirai”.

6] But anyway, back to the initial tweet, I once asked how sustainable the Leadership of the new old MDC-T was since they are only banking on their ability to recall defiant MPs. What sort of Leadership is that? That is political blackmail Mr Mwonzora. It’s embarrassing.

7] Imagine being Leader of a party whose officials need a court ruling to tell them which party they belong to? Imagine Leading officials and individuals who need a court ruling to define their party succession? What does this say about their sense of judgement and political acumen?

8] Imagine being Leader of MPs who campaigned against you (and won) less than two years ago? So if MDC-A MPs now belong to MaKhupe and her MDC-T, which blueprint are they now implementing? MDC-A’s SMART or MDC-T’s BEST? Imagine shamelessly presiding over this political madness.

9] Imagine being a member of this new-old MDC-T. Imagine being led by SG DM who lies that NSC meetings were being held virtually for two whole months only to hold a presser at MRT House “after the first NSC meeting”. By then, he has already decided on Congress dates! Imagine!

10] Imagine being a supporter of the MDC-A which says elections were rigged, now being donated to MaKhupe who said: “I’ll always support ED”? Imagine your SG now saying “we didn’t discuss POLAD”. Imagine your new President now planning on defeating the ED she “will always support.”

11] Imagine being accused of supporting the violent faction on the MDC which used a ragtag Vanguard paramilitary group to almost burnt your VP at your iconic Leader’s funeral. Imagine that “violent” Vanguard Leader now being your party Youth Chair at the ripe age of 40!

12] Now, the Supreme Court MDC-T Leadership as threatened by Mwonzora at their presser, twice now has attempted to call for a caucus meeting of their 103+2 MPs to replace Parly leaders among other things. Twice now, the meetings have been called off. Who’s fooling who?

13] Reality is, Mwonzora and MaKhupe aren’t in charge of 103+2 MPs. That rally bravado is detached from what’s obtaining on the group. Explain what motivated the recall of Hwende, Khumalo and others, whilst Bvondo, Sikhala, Chibaya etc remain. Why aren’t they being recalled?

14] Reality is, politically, Mwonzora has been caught with his pants down. He might very well have to recall over 90 MPs. Observe how their NSC is a new one altogether. This outfit of individuals brought together by emotions was always bound to fail. Ignore the bravado.

15] Emotional scheming can only take you thus far. The revisionist attempts at involving the yesteryear Labour Unions is a whisper in the wind. The so-called consultative meeting with 5 ALLIANCE partners didn’t take off either.
