11 Returnees Escape From A Bulawayo Quarantine Facility
11 People have escaped from quarantine facilities in Bulawayo, The Chronicle reports. According to ZRP, a total of 169 people have escaped from quarantine facilities countrywide and 29 have been arrested since their escape from the facilities.
The development was revealed by ZRP National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi who said:
Bulawayo province currently has a total number of 11 escapees from quarantine Centre. We have a problem with Matabeleland South due to its proximity to the border to South Africa. 95 returnees have so far escaped form quarantine centres there. This poses a challenge as the country is trying to curb the spread of Covid-19 as the number of cases are going up
FeedbackMeanwhile, the government has decided to name people who escape from quarantine. Furthermore, the first lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has urged the authorities to punish people who violate quarantine restrictions as they pose a greater risk to the communities they go to.
