New Zealand Lifts Lockdown As Last COVID-19 Patient Recovers
New Zealand’s last COVID-19 patient has recovered from the deadly virus and the country has subsequently lifted the lockdown, Aljazeera reports.
The country has also not recorded any new cases in 17 days. The development was made by the country’s Prime Minister Jacinda Arden who said this at a press conference:
We have eliminated transmission of the virus for now. While the job is not done. This is a milestone. Thank you, New Zealand
FeedbackArden said they will not let their guard down as they were lifting the lockdown restrictions which they imposed since 28 February.
