Govt Looks To Herbs For COVID-19 Cure

The government has started to incorporate traditional knowledge systems in an effort to find a cure for COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus.

This was said by Health and Child Care Minister Obadiah Moyo while presenting his Ministerial Update on Covid-19 in the National Assembly last week. He said:

As part of our national strategy, we have started to incorporate traditional knowledge systems in our effort to finds a remedy to the pandemic with researches on the use of traditional herbs already underway.

President of the Zimbabwe National Practitioners Association Friday Chisanyu expressed gratitude for the government’s stance towards traditional medicines in fighting COVID-19.
