$18 Billion Economic Recovery And Stimulus Package Implementation On Course - Mthuli

Finance and Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube said that the implementation of the government’s ZWL$18 billion stimulus fund is on course.

Speaking to ZBC News on Saturday, Ncube asserted that the government is giving priority to salvaging citizens livelihoods which have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus-induced lockdown. He said:

We have given priority to Zimbabwean citizens’ livelihoods which have been greatly affected by the national lockdown due to the pandemic and we have made special facilities to the productive sectors and we came up with the Agricultural sector support, Working Capital Support, Mining Sector Support and the Tourism Fund.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa on May 1 announced the ZWL$18 billion Economic Recovery and Stimulus Package aimed at reinvigorating the economy and providing relief to individuals, families, small businesses and industries impacted by the economic slowdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
