Caps United Players, Coaches Receive Maize

Caps United yesterday distributed foodstuffs, including 50kg bags of maize meal, to its players and officials to cushion them from the coronavirus-induced economic hardships and keep them motivated.

The distribution of goodies to the club’s staff comes at a time when the Green Machine has lost its principal sponsor, NetOne.

The mobile telecommunications company said it was doing away with sports sponsorship to fully focus on other sectors, including fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Makepekepe vice-president, Nhamo Tutisani, recently told The Herald that they will always try to make sure their employees were kept motivated. He said:

… as a club, we will always try our best to keep our players and staff happy.

The lockdown is challenging, especially in terms of mindset, so we have to see to it that the staff get what they need in times like these.

Remember if the season was underway, they were supposed to be getting allowances, ranging from winning bonuses to travel.

The commencement of the 2020 Premier Soccer League season was postponed after the coronavirus outbreak and will likely not be back before August.
