The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen from 160 to 174 in the past 24 hours after 14 people tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.
In its update for 30 May 2020, the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) revealed that of the latest 14 cases recorded, 7 were returnees and the other 7 were locals. The Ministry said in a statement:
Fourteen (14) cases tested positive for COVID-19 today. These include 7 returnees, South Africa (5), Botswana (1), United Kingdom (1) and 7 local cases who are all isolated.
The seven (7) local cases being reported today and the two mentioned in yesterday’s report are contacts of known confirmed cases.
Today 356 RDT screening tests and 666 PCR diagnostic tests were done.
The cumulative number of tests done to date is 44 635 (27 109 RDT and 17 526 PCR). To date the total number of confirmed cases is 174; recovered 29, active cases 141 and 4 deaths.
