ZRP has arrested 23 people countrywide for escaping from quarantine facilities, Daily News reports. The arrests were confirmed by ZRP national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi who said;
The police have arrested 23 of the 148 people who escaped from various quarantine centres across the country.
We are urging the public to report all suspected escapees who might have joined communities without following/completing the Covid-19 screening process designed for returnees by the government.
Meanwhile, a community in Umzingwane District reported 4 people who skipped the border into the country to attend a funeral.
This came after authorities urged communities to report border jumpers and people who escaped from quarantine after over 100 people escaped from quarantine facilities countrywide.
