FULL TEXT: Ministry Of Health COVID-19 Update – 25 May 2020

The Ministry of Health and Child Care has announced that the number of coronavirus cases recorded in the country remains at 56 as no new cases were recorded since the last update.

Ironically, there are tests that were conducted on the 24th of May which are still outstanding, the Ministry did not explain why they have not been publicised.

We present the Ministry’s statement below.

  • No new cases tested positive for COVID-19 today.
  • Today 225 RDT screening tests and 210 PCR diagnostic tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 37 474 (21 709 RDT and 15 765 PCR).
  • To date the total number of confirmed cases remains at 56; recovered 25, active cases 27 and 4 deaths, since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020.

    COVID-19 can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

  1. Even election results take too long to be released to facilitate “editing,” certainly that’s the same concept being employed on covid 19 results. The authorities are making spirited efforts to ensure all tests “should” turn out negative, hence the delay in the release of the results
