South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that South Africa will be relaxing the regulations of the COVID-19-induced lockdown on June 1 as the country will be entering into phase 3 from 4.
Addressing the nation on the novel coronavirus on Sunday night, Ramaphosa observed that most sectors of the economy and government departments will be allowed to re-open.
He added that coronavirus hotspots, Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, eThekwini, Nelson Mandela Bay, Buffalo City, and Cape Town, will be reviewed every 2 weeks.
Ramaphosa also said that Alcohol sales will be allowed in phase 3 adding that consumption will only be allowed at home and would be on sale on some days during certain hours.
