Harare City Council Speaks On Farmers' Markets

Harare City Council has announced that Mbare, Hatcliff and Lusaka farmers’ markets shall be open to members of the public between 4 am and 1130 am daily.

The government regards the sale of agriculture products as an essential service hence it was allowed since the imposition of the lockdown although enforcers of the lockdown were blocking farmers.

Posting on its Facebook page, the local government authority said:

#Covid19 #EssentialServices
Mbare, Hatcliffe and Lusaka Farmers Markets open from 0400hrs to 1130hrs daily while all retail Fruit and Vegetable Markets across town are open to the public from 0600hrs to 16300hours daily.

All operations outside the stated hours are illegal and in contravention of the law.
