Former West Ham Coach Eyes Highlanders Job

Former West Ham academy coach Hassan Oktay has expressed interest in taking over as Highlanders coach following the departure of Mark Harrison.

The Briton left for his native England last week following a mutual agreement with the Highlanders executive to suspend his contract amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, Oktay, who is Turkish and was in charge of Gor Mahia in Kenya last year, confirmed that he is ready to take the Bosso challenge and win the league as he did with the Kenyan side last season. He said:

My representatives have told me Highlanders could be interested in my services. I would be interested too, the 46-year-old said.

Zimbabwe has so much football talent. I would wish to develop some of that. I would also want to win the league with Highlanders the way we did it at Gor Mahia.
