WATCH: President Mnangagwa Speaks On Universities, Colleges, Reopening of Schools

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has allowed final year students in tertiary institutions to resume albeit under strict conditions to prevent the spread and transmission of the novel coronavirus.

In his address to the nation on the state of the coronavirus pandemic in the country this Saturday, Mnangagwa said that the lockdown shall remain in place for an indefinite period of time.

The president added that the lockdown will be reviewed after every fortnight to determine whether it has to be extended or lifted.

He added:

Public exam classes within schools and final year students at colleges and universities must be allowed to continue, recognising, however, stipulated COVID-19 prevention measures.

Meanwhile, clear plans of the phased reopening of schools must continue to be put in place.
