“Mamombe And Other Party Members Found In Bad Shape,” – MDC

The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Welfare Department has reported that three members of the party’s Youth Assembly who allegedly went missing following a flash demonstration on 13 May have been found in bad shape.
Posting on Twitter, the party said they were found in Bindura, some 86 km from Harare. Pindula News presents the party’s statement:
Y. Assembly Ldrs C. Chimbiri, Hon. J.Mamombe & N.Marova found by villagers; badly beaten and dumped along Bindura Road. We have since rescued them with the help of@ZLHRLawyers. The Police also attended to the scene. They are now receiving emergency medical care.
The trio went missing in Warren Park on Wednesday 13 May after they were reportedly abducted during a flash protest.
Police issued contradicting statements with regards to the whereabouts of the three. The police initially alleged that they had arrested the trio but later denied that the three were in custody.
