PSL Mourns Masvingo United Founder, Mudhara Mhunga

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has mourned the death of prominent businessman Tanda “Mhunga’’ Tavaruva.

Mudhara Mhunga, as he was affectionately known in Masvingo, was the creative force behind Masvingo United Football Club.

He died on Monday afternoon after a long battle with diabetes and hypertension.

In a statement on Tuesday, PSL said Tavaruva’s contribution to Zimbabwean football will be told for many generations to come.

It is with deep sadness that we learnt of the untimely passing of Masvingo United FC owner, Mr Tanda Tavaruva (Mudhara Mhunga).

Mudhara Mhunga built a formidable football club that made Mucheke Stadium a fortress and pride of Masvingo Province during its time in the PSL.

He will be remembered as an outstanding businessman, a humble individual and a legend who transformed the game of football in so many ways. His contribution to Zimbabwean football will be told for many generations to come.

Our heartfelt condolences go to the Tavaruva family, friends and the entire football fraternity during this difficult time.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
