'Parliament Will Pass New Bills In Less Than A Minute If MDC Boycotts'

George Charamba, who is the Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet (Presidential Communications) has warned the MDC Alliance that it will regret if it disengages from Parliament.

Charamba, who is believed to be behind the Twitter handle @Jamwanda2 said there are two key Bills which cabinet wants to be fast-tracked and they will be passed in Parliament “in less than a minute” if the MDC boycotts. He said:

There are two key Bills which the Executive wants to see fast-tracked for the smooth running of the Republic. One is Constitutional Amendment One which was referred to the Senate; the other relates to Loan Agreements, including one for NetOne.

Should the MDC boycott, it means both key legislations will be a less-than-a-minute affair, followed by prolonged “Zanu ndeyeropa baaaba” song!! Soon after, Supplementary Budget will be debated and passed musi mumwe!!! Makurukota odzokera zvawo kuvanhu rakacheka!!!

The MDC Alliance announced on Monday that it is disengaging from Parliament in protest over the expulsion of four of its legislators by a rival faction led by Thokozani Khupe.
