2 COVID-19 Cases Detected At Chinese Tile Factory In Norton - Mliswa

Two coronavirus cases were reportedly detected at a Chinese tile-manufacturing company in Norton on Tuesday.

Norton MP Temba Mliswa (Independent) said all the staff at Sunny Yi Feng will now undergo mandatory testing and isolation. He said:

I’ve just received notice that 2 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been detected at the Chinese tile factory, Sunny Yi Feng.

This is a blow as I’ve always been concerned about this site and my fears appear confirmed.

All the staff there will now undergo mandatory testing and isolation.

Mliswa, however, did not disclose his “source” as the Ministry of Health and Child Care did not report any new COVID-19 positive cases from the 371 rapid screening tests and 460 PCR tests it conducted on Tuesday.

In its coronavirus (COVID-19) update for 12 May 2020, the Ministry of Health said to date, Zimbabwe has thirty-seven confirmed cases, including twelve recoveries and four deaths.
