Zimbabwe Police Has So Far Arrested 26,398 For Violating COVID19 Lockdown

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has so far arrested 26,398 people for violating Novel Coronavirus lockdown regulations. The ZRP disclosed the figure today as it encouraged Zimbabweans to stay at home unless they have permission to be outdoors.

Said the ZRP:

A total of 26398 people have so far been arrested for violating the national lockdown regulations mainly for unnecessary movements. We urge the public to stay at home, save for those who have been exempted to provide essential services i.e medical, mining and retail sectors etc.

Replenishing of supplies should be done at the nearest shops/within a 5 km radius and gathering for the purpose of consuming alcohol at shopping centres/private residents is illegal. The police will arrest all those who violate the law. #stayathome

  1. @ ZS$500 per violation, that makes $13 million that ‘they’ have collected. It will all go to the
Corona Corrolla division of ZRP, when in fact it should go to the vulnerable who have no work (therefore no money, therefore no food) due to the lengthy lockdown.
