Chamisa Is To Blame For Mwonzora's 'Jecha Strategy' - Freeman Chari

United States-based Biomedical Scientist and social activist sympathetic to the opposition MDC, Freeman Chari said that MDC Alliance president Nelson Chamisa lacked the political acumen to “handle” his erstwhile rival Douglas Mwonzora, pushing him to adopt the “Kudira Jecha strategy”.

Chari believes that Mwonzora is not being used by the ruling ZANU PF party to destroy the MDC Alliance but that his recent actions were motivated by a desire to avenge his mistreatment by Chamisa. Chari tweeted:

Doug is not a ZANU agent. I think politically Nelson failed to handle him. What he is doing now is the Jecha strategy. At the time I raised this, people of real political acumen could have handled this differently.

Responding to Chari, Chamisa’s spokesperson Nkululeko Sibanda claimed that his boss protected Mwonzora many times, even holding “hundreds of meetings” with him to dissuade from his machinations. Sibanda said:

President Chamisa protected Mwonzora many times, HD hundreds of meetings with him to get him to stop his rush-for-power-at-all-costs adrenaline run. He has been looking for power since his first job at ZCTU. He will sell his soul for it.

Chari however, insisted on his position, adding that Mwonzora is justified in his actions. Added Chari:

But cde, rush for power is the new norm ka. The substantive issues at hand are what to do with the supreme court judgement. There are 3 options:
1. Continued denial and a path to annihilation
2. Accept and revert to 2018 and accept defeat to Khupe
3. Anarchy, outcome unknown

No! Doug is justified if you take it from the standpoint that Nero akabvuta chinhu. If u are in Doug’s camp what Nero did and lack of graciousness is unforgivable. If you are in Nero’s camp you also feel Doug should not split the party. And because of t*stis, the split is done.
