Govt To Investigate The Possible Theft Of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The government has said it will investigate possible theft of PPE amid reports that the equipment is not reaching its intended beneficiaries after being released from NatPham, The Chronicle reports.

This was revealed by Ministry of Health and Child Care epidemiology and disease control director, Dr Portia Manangazira who was speaking on the sidelines of a training workshop for health care workers from Bulawayo, Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South, Midlands and Masvingo on how to handle COVID-19 cases. Dr Manangazira said:

…The concern has been to ensure that all the facilities managing Covid-19 have got sustained supplies. But also, to block some of the pilferage that has been going on in the system. So, you will find out that sometimes there has been issuance of the PPE but you go there (to medical facilities) and the health care workers still say they have not received it
