Air Zimbabwe Joins Other Airlines In Transporting Freight Using Passenger Planes

AirZimbabwe has joined other international airlines in using its cargo holds and cabins to ferry cargo during the time passenger flights are suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Herald reports.

This was confirmed by the flag carrier’s assistant administrator Mr Tonderai Mukubvu who said:

We have received several enquiries from South Africa, Canada as well as locally and some of the orders have been confirmed.

It is quite positive for us as we continue pursuing our self-recapitalisation drive even though we may have challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic. We will build on the orders we are getting.

AirZimbabwe has constantly communicated its post-COVID-19 plan that includes introducing new routes to Maun, Capetown, Kinshasa and Windhoek.
