Zimbabwe's Coronavirus Lockdown 'Levels' Explained
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Ndabaningi Nick Mangwana said that Zimbabwe has four (4) lockdown levels.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced on Friday that Zimbabwe will downgrade it’s lockdown to Level 2 on the 3rd of May.
The announcement raised a few eyebrows since it was the first time that the “levels” were mentioned in relation to the coronavirus lockdown.
In a post on Twitter, Mangwana said Zimbabwe started its lockdown on 30 March on Level 4 and moved to Level 3 nearly two weeks ago when some economic activities were permitted to restart.
For the next two weeks from Monday, the country will be on Level 2, with all formal businesses allowed to open, provided they meet certain criteria to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Said Mangwana:

Meanwhile, Twimbos found Mangagwana’s tweet extremely hilarious, with some suggesting that the government is poor at copying and pasting what has been done in other countries.
South Africa and Namibia late last month announced that they will downgrade their lockdowns to Alert Level 4 and STAGE 2, respectively.
