A Harare family has reportedly lost US$49 000, R9 000, $7 000 and a Toyota Mark X vehicle, 10 mobile phones, two laptops, clothes, bags and toiletries after nine armed robbers pounced on them at their house pretending to be customers.
This was said by the state when two members of the gang, Sydney Chimiti (27) and Prince Gawe (25), who were arrested two days later appeared in court for armed robbery.
The Herald reports that the armed robbers were pretending to be clients for potential clients for detergent chemicals only to produce pistols before force-marching victims back into the house.

The state told the court that one of the accused fired a gunshot at Mr Chari, the victim, but missed.
The robbers then tied the hands and legs of the victims and proceeded to search the house for the loot which they loaded into one of Mr Chari’s vehicles.
