COVID-19 Survivor Narrates How He Is Living With COVID-19 Stigmatisation

Saul Sakudya has spoken to Reuters and explained how even after he survived COVID-19, his friends and family still think he has some remnants of the virus and they avoid visiting or talking to him even from a distance.

Although he was given the all clear after two tests, friends and relatives won’t visit or talk to him, even from a distance

Saul while speaking to the publication about the stigma he now has to live with after surviving the disease said:

Some people somehow think I still have residue of the virus. I heard one person referring to my road as corona road, and some people now avoid the road altogether. It hurts, but I have to be mature and accept it.

Sakudya also explained that when he was first taken to Wilkins Hospital after contracting the virus, medical stuff would not go near him as they were afraid to contract the virus.
