Makokoba Drumming Expo To Be Streamed On Facebook On 30 April Due To The Lockdown

Makokoba drumming festival which was supposed to be held on 30 April this year will this year be streamed on Facebook as people cant attend the festival in person due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the Daily News reports. The festival titled Bulawayo Dance ‘n Drumming Expo (Bude) is organised by drummer Lewis Ndlovu who is the founder of Drums of Peace.

Speaking about the festival, Ndlovu said this to the Daily News:

We are excited to announce that Bude, will take place during this world-wide lockdown. We invite you all where ever you are, to take 30 minutes of your time and join us in the comfort of your home for a drumming session. Lockdown does not mean we are locked in spirit let’s celebrate World Dance day together

This will be a Facebook live stream and what is asked of you is to join us in the drumming, dance and cheering, please join us from 6pm as we play

The drumming session will start by observing a moment of silence for those who perished due to COVID-19
