The youthful MDC leader Nelson Chamisa and his team are seriously considering 3 options in response to the High court ruling that declared him an illegitimate MDC leader and made Thokozani Khupe the interim leader of the party, Daily News On Sunday reports.
According to the publication, reliable sources told the Daily News On Sunday that Chamisa and associates are seriously weighing these 3 options:
- Disregarding the recent High Court and Supreme Court judgements which nullified Chamisa’s leadership of the MDC, and continuing as if nothing has changed
- Respecting the court rulings and preparing to contest positions at the extraordinary congress which the courts said must be held soon, or
- Forming a new party altogether — which would be completely divorced from the successful political movement that was founded by the party’s much loved founding leader, the late Morgan Tsvangirai
Nelson Chamisa has reportedly said he will take responsive action about the high court ruling after the COVID-19 lockdown.
