Lysol & Dettol Issues A Strong Warning Against Injecting Or Ingesting Disinfectant After Trump Suggests It Can be Used To Treat COVID-19

Leading disinfectant producer, Reckitt Benckiser which produces Lysol and Dettol products has strongly warned the general populace against ingesting and or injecting disinfectant after the US President Donald Trump made remarks that they could be used to treat COVIS-19, BBC reports.

In a statement issued after Trump’s remarks on Thursday, the company said:

Our disinfectant and hygiene products should only be used as intended and in line with usage guidelines. Please read the label and safety information. (They) should not be administered through injection, ingestion or any other route.

Donald Trump had hypothesised the possible ingestion of disinfectant to treat COVID-19 and said:

And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?
