FULL TEXT: Botswana President Fires Ministry Of Health Officials With Immediate Effect
Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi has fired officials in the Ministry of Health with immediate effect when the whole world is grappling with the coronavirus pandemic.
The development was announced in a press release dated 22 April 2020 signed by the Permanent Secretary in Masisi’s office, Andrew Sesinyi.
The statement, however, did not state the reasons that prompted the retrenchment. We present the statement in full below.
His Excellency the President Dr Mokgweets, Enc Keabetswe Masisi has relieved the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness Mr Solomon M Sekwakwa, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the same Ministry, Dr Morrison Sinvula of their duties, with immediate effect.
The dismissals of the two Senior Government officials were effected 21st April 2020.Andrew O. Sesinyi
