President Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended the national lockdown with two more weeks. He said that the decision was made following a review of the situation in all of the country’s provinces.
He also said that the decision was influenced by the rise in the number of coronavirus cases recorded in the country.
Zimbabwe now has 25 cases including three deaths.
The extension means that the lockdown will conditionally end on the 3rd of May. He said that authorities will continue to monitor the situation.
The lockdown was supposed to expire tonight.
