Popular Mbira songbird Hope Masike will star as the leading actress in a one-woman Canadian play, Newsday reports.
The yet to be named film has been scheduled to be filmed next year according to the songbird who spoke to the publication and said:
I was engaged by playwright Shaunty Grant who is from Canada. She was impressed by my performance in some of my projects, so she emailed me and I went to Canada in February where we worked on the script for the play and I am supposed to be the main act. It’s a one-woman play theatre with a lot of music.
But we have rescheduled the project to next year due to COVID-19 outbreak because we were supposed to finish the project in August, but we are now looking forward to continue with the production next year, that’s if the situation permits us.
Masike recently launched a poetry book titled Ask Me Again in January this year.
