Trauma Center Founder Establishes A Private COVID-19 Isolation Center In Harare

The Trauma Center Founder has set up a COVID-19 Isolation centre in Harare’s Milton Park Suburb, the Daily News reports. The clinic has a 30-bed capacity and is almost complete as they await to be registered by the City Of Harare.

Speaking to the publication, Trauma Centre founder Vivek Solanki said they were not yet operational but would be fully functional after registration sometime next week. Said Dr Solanki:

I have all the necessary equipment needed for an isolation centre, we will start installations of some of the remaining equipment next week as we await registration for the centre to be functional.

We have since applied to the City Council seeking registration. As soon as our registration is considered, we will be ready to go.

The centre will have 30 beds and will have a total of 60 trained health workers. The training process for health workers is still ongoing.

Dr Solanki this past week was said to be treating elite COVID-19 patients at his Borrowdale Trauma Center by journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and in his interview with the publication addressed the story and said:

People should know that I am an international doctor, I treat high-powered executives from Zambia, South Africa, Namibia, Malawi and many more through telemedicine and I haven’t received any Covid-19 case yet at my hospital
