"Listen To Both Arguments And Reflect Very Soberly," -Mwonzora Commends Chamisa's Silence

A leader in the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), Senator Douglas Mwonzora has commended Nelson Chamisa’s silence on the recent Supreme Court ruling that reinstated Thokozani Khupe as the leader of the party.

Mwonzora says that the matter is a serious one hence the need for Chamisa to have a deeper analysis before making a decision as his legitimacy or lack of it thereof depends on what he will do next.

In an interview with New Zimbabwe on Friday, Mwonzora said Chamisa must not listen to people who are telling him what he wants to hear. He said:

I think it is best for Chamisa to reflect on this issue and not listen to people who want to tell him what they think he wants to hear.

He should listen to both arguments and reflect very, very soberly because this will define his credibility or lack of it. I believe myself and the people who say we have to follow the Supreme Court ruling are correct.

The Supreme Court ruled that the party should revert to 2014 structures and then hold an extraordinary congress to choose the successor to the late party founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai but Chamisa’s supporters are opposed to the ruling.
