Zim Govt Appeals For Local And International Financial And Material Aid To Help Combat The Spread Of COVID-19

The Zimbabwean government has reportedly launched a local and international financial and material aid appeal to help them fight COVID-19, Daily News reports.

The reports are coming amid reports that Wilkins yesterday took in 4 suspected COVID-19 cases. The appeal was made by Finance Minister after launching the National Disaster Fund when he said:

The Covid-19 pandemic is undoubtedly very likely to be one of the worst natural disasters to befall our nation in recent times.

Government has, in response, set aside significant resources towards efforts to mitigate the immediate, medium and long term effects of this global pandemic on our people and the broader economy.

However, the scale and seriousness of this epidemic calls upon all of us as Zimbabweans to put our best foot forward and I, therefore, wish to call upon … all stakeholders that have the capacity and wish to assist in any way to come forward with their contribution to … combat the Covid-19 pandemic

The campaign came after Zimbabwe recorded a third COVID-19 death.

  1. Sebenzisani eyepart(Zanu pf), kanti alilamali lenza imicimbi yezigidi zamadola lingokhangezile.

  2. Financial aid needs robust monitoring because as it is, already Cartels for looting have been established, remember this is Zanu PF’s modus operandi.
