ZRP To Impound Lockdown Defiants’ Vehicles

The police have announced they will impound vehicles belonging to motorists who are breaking lockdown restrictions, the Daily News reports.

This was communicated by the ZRP National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi who said:

The security services have noted with concern an increase in the volume of traffic, with some vehicles being parked in the CBD for the whole day with no valid reason or purpose. Such vehicles will be impounded and the owners arrested and prosecuted

This comes amid reports that traffic of both vehicles and passengers is increasing in CBDs across the country as the lockdown lose momentum. 2885 people have been arrested for breaking lockdown restrictions.
