Mwonzora, Mudzuri And Komichi Told To Resign From Senatorial Positions

Welshman Ncube, an official in the MDC Alliance has said that Senators, Douglas Mwonzora, Morgen Komichi and Elias Mudzuri should resign from their senatorial positions as a sign that they fully embrace the Supreme Court ruling on the MDC’s leadership crisis.

The ruling which the trio is supporting reinstated Thokozani Khupe as the leader of the party while Nelson Chamisa was reduced to a Secretary of Policy and Research. Commenting on the ruling, Ncube said:

If Mwonzora is the constitutionalist he says he is and fully embraces the Supreme Court judgment declaring invalid and void all appointments and decisions made by Chamisa then let us see him resign his Senate seat for he was appointed onto the Manicaland PR (provisional representative) Senate list by Chamisa.

Ncube also said that Komichi and Mudzuri, in that order, who did not qualify to be a Senator in Midlands and lost a primary election in Harare and had to be appointed by Chamisa PR lists must also resign.

Meanwhile, Mwonzora refuted the claims that he is a Senator because of Chamisa’s kindness saying that he “applied and was approved as a Senate candidate by the elections directorate of the main MDC.”
