ED Qoutes The Bible & Urges Zimbos To Pray In His Easter Message

President Mnangagwa has relayed his Easter message in which he quoted the bible and urged families and friends that will gather to commemorate Easter to pray for the COVID-19 pandemic that has brought the world to its knees, The Anchor reports.

The president in his easter message said:

As we commemorate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ may we be reminded that we have a faithful God, who is ever present, even in the midst of this global threat to life, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This Easter holiday may we be further encouraged by the knowledge that Jesus Christ triumphed over death. His love is much more powerful, offering us assurance that the difficulties and challenges that threaten to overwhelm us will be overcome. In all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us.
I am aware that in the past, the Easter holiday season would see most families, friends as well as worshippers gather together to remember the gift of eternal life given to us by God through the death of and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Sadly, this will not be possible this holiday, we continue to observe the essential lockdown we instituted to prevent the spread of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic. However, do not despair for the Bible says in Mathew 18 verse 20, where two or three gather, the Lord is present with them. There is hope. The situation will not last forever, it will come to pass. Things will go back to normal; but in the meantime, we must be patient and responsible
Zimbabwe which is in the middle of a 3 weeks national lockdown has so far recorded 3 COVID-19 deaths and 11 COVID-19 positive cases.
