Travel Advisory To UK Travellers In Zimbabwe

The United Kingdom’s Ambassador in Zimbabwe, Mrs Melanie Ronison has issued a travel advisory to UK travellers in the country.

She posted on Twitter advising that there are still some seats remaining at the Ethiopian Airline which they can take advantage of. Posting on Twitter, she said:

UK travellers in #Zimbabwe: we understand there are limited seats still available on @flyethiopian on Saturday. Please contact the airline to book. And if you haven’t reached out to us yet, please do: ukinfo.harare@fco.gov.uk

She recently urged all UK citizens who were visiting Zimbabwe to return to the UK. The advisory followed the death of Zororo Makamba a 30-year-old Zimbabwean journalist who succumbed to coronavirus.

Makamba’s family then exposed Zimbabwe’s ill-preparedness to fight the deadly pandemic. Although the advisory did not state the reason why the UK citizens were being implored to go back home, it is understood that it was triggered by the outbreak of the virus.
