President Emmerson Mnangagwa this Thursday met with representatives of Church organisations and urged hem to take the COVID-19 threat seriously.
He also implored them to disseminate correct information to congregants to avert the further spread of the deadly pandemic which is wreaking havoc across continents.
The face to face meeting is held when the country is on a 21-day lockdown which confines citizens to their homes.
In other countries where a lockdown has been effected, meetings are being arranged via teleconferencing which involves the use of telecommunication devices to hold discussions between participants in different locations.
Teleconferences or teleseminars are encouraged to stop the spread or transmission of the novel coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health announced this Thursday that the number of cases in the country remains at 8.
