About 600 000 Chinese People Locked Down After New Coronavirus Infections Near Hubei Province - Al Jazeera

Al Jazeera’s Florence Looi has reported that about 600,000 Chinese people have been locked down after new coronavirus infections were reported near Hubei province, where the outbreak began in 2019.

The new infections were discovered in Henan province thereby raising fears of a second wave of infections.

The development comes after Chinese authorities recently announced that about 14 percent of the Chinese nationals who had recovered from the virus had tested positive for coronavirus again.

China claims that about 89 000 people tested positive while around 3 300 coronavirus deaths were recorded in the country, the figures which are said to be fake by the United States intelligence.

Al Jazeera also reports that the president of the Philippines has ordered soldiers and the police to shoot anyone who breaches lockdown orders.
