Africa Faces A “Dramatic Evolution” Of The Coronavirus Pandemic - WHO Regional Director For Africa

The World Health Organisation regional director for Africa, Matshidiso Rebecca Moeti has warned countries that there is a chance the coronavirus pandemic might have a dramatic evolution on the continent, The Chronicle reports.

Moeti said this while encouraging African countries to intensify actions to fight the pandemic. Moeti said this to France24:

The situation is very worrying, with a dramatic evolution: an increase geographically in the number of countries and also an increase in the number of infections.

Official statistics say 39 out of 47 WHO countries have reported COVID-19 positive cases and the continent has close to 3500 cases and so far 94 people have died from the virus In Africa.
